The Best Toy Magnatiles

If you have Magnatiles then you know they are shockingly versatile and can be used for independent play, joint play, and fun for the whole family. We started out with one set and over time we probably have over a thousand dollars’ worth through sets we’ve bought and the kids have received as gifts from family members.

They inspire imagination, creativity, and even a bit of engineering. Our kids have been building towers and rockets out of them lately in addition to castles.

After they build a structure, they play dolls with it. Our youngest enjoys creating paw patrol playscapes, using them, tearing them down, and then starting all over again. Even as an adult you’ll likely enjoy these.

One concern we had with other magnet sets were the magnets inside each tile. The tiles are pretty ridged however. After eight years of use we’ve only had a couple tiles lose their magnets within. The lose of magnets would be a concern for young children putting them in their mouths but the tiles are actually well made. I’d imagine the few we have that did lose magnets were because we’ve built towers to the ceiling on countless occasions and what goes up must come down, sometimes ungracefully.

We did have one mishap where one tile was placed on the counter and stuck itself to the bottom of a baking tray and made it to the oven (oops).

The kits can be very pricey. We do have several of the off brand kits sold on Amazon and we’ve had the same amount of luck with those kits too. We start out with magnatiles roughly eight years ago with our oldest and our youngest now four continues the trend of thoroughly enjoying them.
